This is Hammond's Crime Scene Investigators. These trained officers are certified 
in evidence and property collection from small hairs to fingerprints to even 
bullets. This department also test fires every handgun that is recovered 
off of the street. The rounds are recovered and sent to the Sheriff's 
Department for examination and comparison. 
Gun permits and fingerprinting is also obtained through here by appointment.

Child Fingerprinting:
 Child fingerprinting is available for newborn children to eighteen years old. 
Fingerprints are placed on a card for safekeeping with the parents or guardians. 
Fingerprinting is also available for special needs persons. For more information
