Lt. Patrick Vicari heads the Traffic Division. These officers specialize
in traffic enforcement, accident reports, hit and run reports, and fatality accidents.
This division also includes the department's motorcycle unit.
The motorcycle unit specializes in traffic enforcement and escort details
from funerals to parades to dignitaries. Lt. Vicari also organizes the grant
funded Seatbelt, OWI, Reciprocity and Childseat Restraint monitoring
stations throughtout the city.

Bureau

Records Bureau Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM
to 4:00 PM
Closed Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays.
Crash
reports will be available FIVE working days after
the crash
investigation is completed.
There will be a $10.00 photocopy charge per report.

If your vehicle was towed it is necessary to obtain a vehicle release
from the Hammond Police Department Records Bureau.
The vehicle release can be obtained by paying a $20.00
administrative fee during normal business hours.
You must bring a valid Drivers License and proof of vehicle
ownership (Title, Registration, or Insurance card).
The towing company will not release your vehicle
or the contents of your vehicle until the vehicle release is obtained. |
