Headed by Capt. Jeff Long, this division is the largest in the department with 125 officers. In 2005, police squads were outfitted with new laptop mobile terminals. These laptops are more advanced from the previous models where officers can now view records, mugshots, and electronic reporting and accident reports. Officers on each shift are trained and assigned an X26 Taser. Since the taser program was started in 2003, officer injuries and suspect injuries have decreased.
